Moxie Mini Music Conference in Orlando Oct 10th

The Moxie Mini Music Conference is a one-day event that features highlights from the most popular workshops that I offer online and in various cities around the country. From networking in the music business, to selling your CDs, there are various music biz workshops to choose from!

The next Moxie Mini Music Conference takes place October 10-11, 2009 in Orlando, FL
on International Drive. Spaces are limited, so please register online today. Each individual course is $30. Register for the whole day for $100. The Musicians Lunch is held at a nearby restaurant, and the price of lunch is additional. On Sunday, October 11th, two private consulation slots are available.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10th
10:00am – 11:30am Music Marketing Machine
To build a serious buzz about your music, it’s not just who you know, but who knows you!

In this workshop, you’ll learn:
* How to develop an effective “elevator pitch” for your your music or band.
* My “Hot List” strategy to reach the industry folks you want to meet
* How to meet and build relationships with music managers, booking agents, and other music biz professionals

12:00pm – 1:30pm Twitter for Musicians
Twitter is a great way to communicate with music fans in less time than it takes to send an email.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:
* How to get more followers
* How to promote and sell your music via Twitter
* How to get more visitors to your MySpace, website, etc.

2:00pm – 3:30pm Musicians Lunch
Musician’s Lunch is a luncheon event to bring together musicians who are interested in learning about the latest trends in music marketing and ideas for promotion over a meal. I love talking about music, I love breaking down marketing strategies used by successful indie musicians, and I love eating out. If you have your heart set on sitting next next to me, that spot goes to the first musician who offers to buy my lunch! In addition to the fun we’ll be having, each lunch attendee will also get a free music marketing strategy guide that’s worth $47!

4:00pm – 5:30pm “Sell Your Music!” Workshop
This workshop is for advanced musicians in any musical genre who already have a website, mailing list, and CDs and/or MP3s available for sale to the general public. If you don’t have these items already, but are planning to do so in the near future, this workshop will help you learn what you need to know for a successful CD launch.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:
* What are the ONLY ways to build your music business
* How to build a product/merchandise line
* How to make your newsletter work for you

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11th
Private music marketing consultations include a customized music marketing plan for you or your band, plus the Sell Your Music strategy guide.

About Carla Lynne Hall:

Carla Lynne Hall is a musician and music marketing consultant based in New York City. Her mission is to make music and share her knowledge with other musicians. As a musician, she has released three CDs on her Moxie Entertainment label, and has toured the world as a singer/songwriter, and professional vocalist. Her debut CD FRONT & CENTER reached #3 in regional CMJ charts. Her current CD SUPERNOVA has been described as “Norah Jones meets Sade for tea on their way to meet The Beatles”. She has opened for blues legend Taj Mahal, and was signed to the Barbara Coppersmith Booking Agency.

Carla has also spent a number of years behind the scenes in the music industry: Synch Music Licensing at EMI Music Publishing; Director of Marketing, Juna Entertainment (music management); Forum Manager, Ariel Music Publicity; Street Team radio promotion, Hot 105 FM, WHQT (Miami, FL).

Carla is the host of Musicians Lunch, a monthly musician’s gathering in NYC, and other cities around the US. Carla has given indie music lectures at many venues, including ASCAP, Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, The Indie Music Forum, and Philadelphia Music Conference.

As well as being the former music business columnist for Vibe Magazine, Carla has written articles for MusicDish.com and other publications around the world, and is the author of The DIY Guide to the Music Biz. Carla also blogs about the life of an indie musician at Rock Star Life Lessons.com
