Carla & Curtis performing at Goodbye Blue Monday
So how’s that for a title? 😉
I was originally set to join Curtis Becraft for his gig at Bushwick Brooklyn’s Goodbye Blue Monday on Dec 20th at 9pm, when he turned around and got *me* a gig to fill in for a cancellation at 11pm. Curtis, sweetheart that he is, agreed to stay and sit in with me for the later set, so it’s gonna be a fun night of music.
It’s not that I believe that the world will end on Dec 21st as the Mayans predicted, BUT if it so happens that there is some kind of apocalyptic event, I will have at least spent my final hours making music with good friends. That works for me!
Curtis and I have some fun musical things planned for the New Year, so this gig will just be a teaser. Come early for Curtis’ gig, grab a bite from the kitchen, and then hang out with us for my 11pm slot.
If the world does end, you don’t want to sleep through it. Come on out!
On Nov 30th, I’ll be rejoining Curtis & The Dilettantes on the stage for Wicked Willy’s Happy Hour. Bandleader Curtis Becraft keeps me working!!!
Getting ready for another fantastic fundraiser with my classic rock banker band, Aged Inventory.
Just learned that I’ll be singing lead on Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” – can’t wait!!!
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I’ll be joining troubadour Curtis Becraft on his originals during his singer/songwriter show at Path Cafe in The Village!
Escape the crowded stores and your crazy family, and come out to Curtis Becraft’s “Black Friday Jam” at The Starving Artist Cafe on City Island, Bronx!

This Saturday, November 10th, I’ll be performing at Branded Saloon in Brooklyn, as part of Curtis Becraft’s Song Circle and Band Share.
I’ve really been enjoying my gigs with Curtis, who in addition to the accordion, plays a few other instruments. He also has a band, Curtis and the Dilettantes, who will be performing covers on Nov 30th at Wicked Willy’s, and I’ll be joining them as well. Should be fun!
Come out this weekend for a night of music and fun!
Just in time for the CMJ Music Conference: On Friday, October 19th, I’ll be a featured performer in the long running “No Name” Comedy/Variety Show hosted by Eric Vetter. Show starts at 7pm!
Now that Word Up Books is on hiatus, Eric moved the show to Otto’s Shrunken Head, everyone’s favorite dive tiki bar on the Lower East Side of NYC.
Speaking of CMJ, while the music conference is going on in NYC, I’ll also be hosting HMJ, my Home Music Journal conference. Watch this space for more details!!!
Curtis Becraft on accordian, Me, and Fred Arcoleo on guitar
Curtis Becraft set up a great night of music last night (Sept 26th) at Gizzi’s NYC, featuring Fred Arcoleo and Jennifer Richman. Other musicians on hand to bring the magic included Jim Cirrinicione, Demetrius Daniel, and me. Music is my LIFE!!!

CLH playing in front of Word Up for Make Music New York 2012
My eagerly-awaited musical residency at Washington Heights’ Word Up Bookstore is here! On July 1st, Word Up’s lease was unexpectedly terminated, and they were given 30 days to pack up. Fortunately, other locations have been presented for the future, and a 30 day extension was granted, so now the gig is back on!
I’m scheduled to play the first four Thursdays of August, and I’m gonna give the last days at this location all I got. I even hired a young, up and coming guitar player, Kevin Frias, so we can do fun and interesting covers, including Jeff Buckley’s “Lover, You Should Have Come Over” and Britney Spears’ “Toxic”. Should be an interesting time. It’s a FREE SHOW. Come on out!
