I didn’t go to South by Southwest this year, but I did attend Couch by Couchwest, the virtual music conference “where the only hipster is you”. As today is St. Patrick’s Day, I chose to do an a capella cover of “St. Patrick’s Day” by John Mayer. The song has nothing to do with being Irish or green beer, but I like it just the same.
From the Couch by Couchwest blog:
CXCW is the slackers alternative to SXSW. During the week of March 11-18, 2012 musicians from around the world submit videos recorded on a couch, porch, bathroom…anywhere but the stage…for our enjoyment from the comfort of our living rooms. We hope to bring together as many people as possible who are stuck home while all their friends are stuck in the crowds of Austin, TX. So crack open a beer, crank up the volume, and enjoy the couch!
Happy March!

For my last official blog post entry for the Great Blog Off 2008, I’m happy to share another video.
“(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman” is a song I’ve never recorded for a CD, but happily performed live over the years. In this particular performance, I sang a capella while the audience sang backup. The audience was filled with friends, and because it was right before a holiday weekend, people were feeling festive. In other words, it was a total hoot!!! I wish all performances could be as fun as this one was!

Here’s a video from my Supernova CD, entitled “Lucy & Ethel”.
This song was written for my best girlfriend, Anna, as it reflects ups, downs, and adventures of any friendship that has lasted as long as ours.
She’s Lucy. I’m definitely Ethel. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

And to make sure that uploading one of my videos wasn’t a fluke, I’ll add a second one here before loading the rest to my video page.
This live performance video clip was also taped at The Cutting Room, the club owned by Sex and the City’s “Mr. Big” (Chris Noth).
This clip is dedicated to all you Sex and the City fans out there who are waiting with baited breath for the Movie Premiere on May 30th!
Enjoy!
